Pastor and Sister French
Pastor French began his ministerial journey in 2000, when he began serving as Youth Leader. In 2005, he was appointed to serve as Assistant Pastor under Bishop Powell. Years later, in April of 2024 he was elected to serve as the Pastor of the First Pentecostal Church of Bagdad. The hallmark of his ministry has been his tireless dedication and his commitment to serve with humility. Pastor and Sister French have a passion for reaching for the lost with grace and genuine love. They are greatly loved by their church family.

Bishop and Sister Powell
Bishop Powell served as the pastor of First Pentecostal Church for 42 years before handing it over to Pastor French in April of 2024. Bishop and Sister Powell stood at the helm and navigated the church family through the changing times with steadfast faith and long-held convictions, never wavering and never backing down. They are treasured by their church family, and they still continue to serve in the new capacity of Bishop and Sister Powell.

Children’s Ministry
First Pentecostal Church of Bagdad believes in investing in our future. We believe Proverbs 22:6, “Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” We teach children to be followers of Jesus Christ and create an atmosphere where they can have an enjoyable learning experience.
There is an action-packed Sunday School every Sunday! We have fun themes for the children throughout the year, along with special treat days to reward their learning. Our Sunday School is set up on a rotational schedule where the children enjoy the following:

Our mission is to Reach the lost; Teach disciples; Connect disciples to the Body of Christ; and Impact our world. Our vision is to be a 21st Century Apostolic church that teaches and operates in the fullness and power of God’s Word accompanied with the demonstration of the Holy Ghost. We are to heal the brokenhearted, raise up the sick, deliver the captives, recover sight to the blind, and worship in Spirit and in Truth.

What we believe
First Pentecostal Church of Bagdad is a church founded on the first church birthed in the Book of Acts. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God.
We believe there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the creator of heaven and earth. He has revealed Himself as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit).
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Acts 2:38 We believe in the baptism of the Holy Ghost with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues. And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:4
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Ghost. God ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy; words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, and healings. Mark 16:15-18, Acts 5:16:2, 2 Corinthians 12:1-11
